DAVID POTTER

SCIENCE

David Potter (Dave) will be teaching climate and hazards this year at the Milford Academy. Dave comes to the Academy with 15 years of teaching experience in science in grades 7-12. He is currently a Coordinator of Special Education at BOCES assisting teachers, students and their families with meeting educational goals and needs. Before that, Dave worked with teachers developing techniques and curriculum in the subject areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (or STEM) as a professional developer and Teacher Center Director for the region.

Dave earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the State University College at Oneonta. He has also earned a Certificate of Advanced Study from the State University College at Cortland in Education Administration. Dave is no stranger to the area of New Berlin, in his first 15 years of education he worked for Unadilla Valley for a few years in the very building that houses the Academy. Dave is a longtime Syracuse University fan and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan (since 1982). He enjoys wine-making and visiting the St. Lawrence River region in the summer.
